Central Illinois Oldest Lumber Yard

Hoffrichter Lumber has been serving Central Illinois from the same location since 1875. E.B. Kipp, great-grandfather of William Kipp Hoffrichter, Jr. (Bill) purchased the original lumberyard from the mayor of Pontiac, A.F. Fisher, and it remained in the family for 4 Generations. Bill cared very much about his employees, considering them a part of his family. Before he passed in June 2014, he agreed to sell the lumberyard to Marie Kane, his Office Manager, to keep his business in the “family”.

What was once a small lumber and coal yard has grown into a full-service lumberyard and design center dedicated to providing the best products and service around for our customers.

For over 140 years, we have been committed to stocking superior grade lumber and materials. We select mills and suppliers that provide a higher grade of lumber than most other yards carry. We choose proven products so we can confidently say we stand behind what we sell. And we make that quality affordable for you.

Through the years, we’ve kept up with the building and remodeling trends for our customers. We stay current with new designs and products available to help our customers achieve their dream home. We have a showroom full of displays and samples to help make the choices easier.

Take the time to come see what Hoffrichter Lumber has to offer you.
